How do I manage my FTP access on my Plesk web server?

FTP access refers to the access data required to connect to a server. It is important that these are not passed on to third parties. If this does happen, or if you want to be more secure, you can simply change them in Plesk. You can find out how this works and what else you can set in these instructions:

1. Log in to Plesk.
2. Click on "FTP access" in the dashboard.
3. Now you can optionally edit an FTP account or create a new one. In the following steps, you will learn specifically how both work.

Create an FTP account

1. Click on "Add FTP account" at the top left.
2. Now choose a name for the FTP account.
3. Then decide which directory the user should be directed to when they log in to the account.
4. Last but not least, enter a password for this account, which is required if you want to log in to the account. You can also have this generated to guarantee a secure password.
5. Click on "OK" to complete the process.

Edit FTP account

1. Click on the account you want to edit.
2. You now have the option to change the name and password.
3. Once you have made your changes, click on "OK" to finish.
